Good and Bad Memories from Our Latest Family Holiday
When we came back from Greece we had mixed feelings about our journey. No doubt about it, the place where we spent for our holidays was great. One of the best villas in mykonos became ours for more than two weeks; we invited friends and family to join us, and we spent our time resting and swimming almost on a daily basis. The good thing about our holidays was the company, the sun, the good times at the sea and the house we stayed. On the other hand there were some really bad moments of overcrowding at the coast near the harbor and when visiting islands nearby; our good sense of humor was a great help. Chances are we will soon forget the bad moments and only keep the good moments to recall. But still, it seems that all these islands are becoming over commercialized and they lose a great deal on their image.
Famous Christmas Songs Add to the Fun Atmosphere of Tree Decorating
The best way to decorate a tree is to have famous christmas songs playing in the back ground to get into the spirit. It can be hard to know how to find the best tree. There are groups that run a “tree lot” on various corners in small towns and large cities. These consist of freshly cut trees lined up and a person can pick out their favorite. Purchasing a freshly cut tree can be a little expensive. They us ally cost about eight to ten dollars per foot. So if you buy a six foot tall tree, the cost can add up quickly. A fun and adventurous way is to go to a tree farm and literally cut it down yourself. This can be a fun family outing where every member can help find the perfect sized tree to put in the family room. It can take a lot of hard work and effort to physically cut down the chosen tree but everyone involved will enjoy the fun experience. It can be a peaceful and scenic walk out to the specific stand of trees. Of course if you do not want to worry about having a live tree there are always artificial ones available.
Chinese Lanterns for Celebrations
For your next party or celebration, why not try something different and decorate the party area with Chinese lanterns! Chinese lanterns are rapidly gaining popularity as a stunning, yet chic, decoration for almost any celebration. You can also buy different designs of lanterns for different celebrations.
You can get lanterns that are designed specifically for weddings in a delicate white, with pretty designs like doves or flowers embossed into them. If you prefer though, you can also pick up different sizes & colours of traditional paper lanterns which also go well at any wedding reception.
One of my favourite, which is a slight variation on the traditional Chinese lantern, is the bird cage tea light with a place card holder. It’s almost like a lantern with just the frame, but the frame is designed into the shape of a bird cage and looks stunning when the candle inside is lit up.
